Today I want to dedicate a post to a topic that is close to me: smoking.I want to be clear that I do not smoke; I never smoked and I will not smoke ever!
The smoke is one of those activities that you can not explain why it is the favourite of such a large slice of humanity, although it has any advantage but only several negative aspects!
Among those:
- The cost (how much does a smoker spend each year? And how much money does he spend throughout the entire lives? Maybe it would have been better to invest that money in other successful investment!
- The higher probability to get a cancer (do you want to die young?)
- The related health problems (also infinite)
- The breathing difficulties
- The deterioration of every physical performance
And again:
- Bad breath (disgusting)
- The bad smell (too bad)
- Dependence on cigarettes (with consequent corollaries of nervous-type personality)
And certainly, since I am a profane in the field, there are for sure others negative sides...
Those positive instead?
Uhm… mah ... I can’t see for the moment... but maybe because I am always an profane :)
Probably the only positive side is the fact to give to the smoker a sense of security, as those who start smoking (or continue to do so) were frequently in a difficult moment of their life.
Needless to say, it’s almost always during the adolescence period (a difficult moment by definition), that young people start to smoke, trying to imitate different models and trying to look older, stronger, safer, etc.
But this concern the past and we are interested in improving the present and future.
So, how is possible to quit smoking?
Perhaps there is not an absolute method valid for everybody: there are those who have stopped all at once with the only strength of the will, some who reduce the load of cigarettes per day, others who use gums or nicotine patches, some who read books (see for example “The Easy Way to Stop smoking" from Allen Call) and use mental techniques (for example, the Neuro Linguistic Programming) or physical techniques (for example, EFT).
In short, the methods are different.
Stop to pollute your body!
